Overview
Confirmation is the sacrament in which a baptized person is sealed with the Holy Spirit and strengthened in their faith. It is a continuation of the journey of faith that began with baptism, and it is an opportunity for the person being confirmed to publicly profess their faith and commitment to the Catholic Church. Through the laying on of hands by the bishop, the person being confirmed is empowered to live out their faith in the world and to be a witness to the love of God.
Confirmation is an important moment in the life of a Catholic, as it signifies a deepening of one's relationship with God and a commitment to live out one's faith in the world. The sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the presence of the community of believers, and the person being confirmed chooses a sponsor who will guide and support them on their journey of faith.
Through the sacrament of Confirmation, Catholics are called to be active participants in the life of the Church and to use their gifts and talents to serve others. Confirmation is a powerful reminder of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives and our call to be witnesses to the Gospel.
Whether you are a lifelong Catholic or someone exploring the Catholic Church, the sacrament of Confirmation is a powerful reminder of the importance of faith, community, and service in our lives. It is an invitation to deepen our relationship with God and to commit ourselves to live out our faith in the world.
