Event OVerview
Join us as we begin the holy season of Lent with Ash Wednesday. Ashes are a symbol of penance and humility made sacramental by the blessing of the Church, and they help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available starting 30 minutes prior to each Mass/Service. If you have not been to Confession in a while, please come and receive God's mercy!
Note: It is important to remember that Ash Wednesday is a day of penitential prayer and fasting. The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members from age 14 onwards. Those who are excused from the fast and abstinence are those who are ill, especially those who have chronic illnesses such as diabetes. Women who are pregnant and breastfeeding are also excused from fasting and abstinence. In all cases, common sense should prevail, and those who are ill, pregnant or breastfeeding should not jeopardize their health by fasting.
