Welcome to the St. Dominic Catholic Church Kitchen Ministry!

Peace be with you! My name is Pam Elmore, and I have the great joy and responsibility of serving as the Kitchen Manager here at St. Dominic. I warmly welcome you to this sacred space of service—the heart of our parish, the kitchen.

Your decision to serve in this ministry is a beautiful witness to your faith and generosity. In Scripture, we are reminded that “whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 4:11). What we do here is more than preparing food—it is a ministry of hospitality, nourishment, and love. Through the sharing of meals, we build up the Body of Christ, foster fellowship, and extend the compassion of our Lord to all who enter our parish.

Each act of service in this kitchen, no matter how small, becomes a prayer and offering to God. We follow the example of Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve (cf. Matthew 20:28), and we do so with humility, joy, and a spirit of unity.

Thank you for offering your time and talents in this important ministry. Your presence here is a blessing, and I look forward to growing together in faith as we serve our parish family.

If you have any questions or need support in your role, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact me at (850) 819-2440 or by email at kitchen@saintdominicpc.com.

In the love and service of Christ,
Pam Elmore
Kitchen Manager
St. Dominic Catholic Church

Bienvenido(a) al Ministerio de Cocina de la Parroquia San Domingo

Estimado(a) voluntario(a):

Pam Elmore

Our partnership with Lynn Haven United Methodist allows us to make an even greater impact in the community, extending our reach and providing nourishment for the body and soul. We believe that by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of our community, we can build a stronger, more compassionate, and resilient community. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of others.

“The Church cannot but encourage everything that serves in harmoniously developing the human body. It is rightly considered the masterpiece of the whole of creation, not only because of its proportion, strength, and beauty, but also and especially because God has made it His dwelling place and the instrument of an immortal soul, breathing into it that "breath of life" by which man is made in His image and likeness." – St. John Paul II

At St. Dominic Catholic Church, we offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for preschool children aged 3-5 years. This unique faith formation program is student-led and uses a Montessori-style approach to help children discover the Word of God in a meaningful way.

Our program takes place in our parish Atrium, a specially designed space that features beautiful materials and specially trained catechists who assist students in their spiritual formation. In the Atrium, children are invited to explore the richness of our Catholic faith through hands-on activities, prayer, and reflection. They are encouraged to ask questions, express their thoughts and feelings, and develop a deep and personal relationship with God.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program at St. Dominic Catholic Church offers a unique and engaging way for preschool children to encounter Christ and deepen their faith. We invite families to join us on this journey of discovery and help their children develop a love for God and His Word that will last a lifetime.

At St. Dominic Catholic Church, we are committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for children to deepen their faith and connect with their peers in a positive and enriching way.

Through our program, young disciples (1st - 5th grade) will have the opportunity to engage with the teachings of the Catholic Church in a fun and interactive way, using age-appropriate materials and activities. Our dedicated team of trained catechists and volunteers work tirelessly to create a nurturing and engaging environment where children can grow in their faith and develop a deeper understanding of God's love for them.

We believe that faith formation is a lifelong journey, and our Young Disciples program seeks to plant the seeds of faith in our young disciples, laying a strong foundation for their spiritual growth in the years to come. So, whether your child is just beginning their journey of faith or is looking to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Church, we invite you to join us at St. Dominic Catholic Church and become a part of our Young Disciples program.

Preparation for First Holy Communion (as well as Baptism for children age 7 thru 5th Grade) takes place within our Young Disciples Ministry. We look forward to accompanying you and your child toward these beautiful encounters with Jesus!

Which Young Disciples class is best for my child?

Young Disciples 101:

Your child could benefit from a robust introductory Catholic faith formation experience. They would develop a firm foundation of their faith by attending a class that starts from the beginning- creation, the entrance of sin into the world, God's saving plan through Jesus, and our response to His love. They could use some guidance in forming a regular prayer life. Weekly Mass maybe a new experience for the children. This class is ideal for newcomers, children entering faith formation for the first time (or first time in a longtime), and children seeking Baptism.

Parents express an openness to learn, themselves! They are on their own journey to encountering the Lord and growing in faith through theCatholic Church. They are open to the Pathway Classes for adults on Wednesday nights.

Young Disciples 201:

Your child expresses a desire and is ready to go deeper in their faith- they have a regular prayer life, the faith is talked about/practiced at home, they ask questions about God and our faith, they have been regularly involved in Children's Ministry for more than a year, etc. Parents have seen the fruits of the Christian life in their child- they exhibit remorse for sin, show virtue in daily life, and talk to others about God. They are Baptized, and if applicable, have received 1st Communion. They attend weekly Mass with their parents/guardians.

Their parents understand their role as the primary catechist, the importance of weekly Mass attendance, and model a Sacramental life/worldview.Parents are keenly interested in their own deeper formation in the faith.

From the moment people drive onto our parish campus, we want them to know they are loved, welcome, and wanted - whether a longtime St. Dominic parishioner or a first-time visitor. Our Hospitality Team is often the first face someone encounters when they come to Mass or attend a St. Dominic event. Our Hospitality Team members offer warm smiles, shake hands, and hold doors for all visitors and guests. They also help keep our liturgies flowing beautifully by assisting during the Offertory and Communion. These team members (usually wearing our signature name tags) are easily identifiable and can help answer questions and direct guests wherever they need to go.
