Fr. Michael’s Message
13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
For you know the gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though he was rich, for your sake he became poor,
so that by his poverty you might become rich.
Today I want to take a moment just to praise God for the incredible graces at work in my life. I have been serving here at Saint Dominic for the past eight years (!), the past six as the pastor (!!!), and I have never been more excited to be here than I am right now. This weekend we have our Confirmation Mass, where Bishop Bill will lay hands on several disciples of Jesus Christ that they receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit to live as the on-fire missionaries God created them to be. What Grace! This weekend we also officially welcome Fr. Richard Graham to our parish. Fr. Richard was just ordained a few weeks ago, and is such a tremendous example of bold faith, love for the Church and a heart of service. He embodies our parish mission in a bold way. I think that his time here at Saint Dominic will serve as an inspiration to parishioners young and old, and inspire many young men to follow Jesus in a call to the priestly ministry. As we celebrate the joys of these liturgies and this time that God has given us, let us pray for an ever deeper spirit of generosity, to respond to the generosity of Jesus by boldly loving, serving and supporting one another. God bless you!
